Pokemon Go Simply Groundbreaking Event Introduces Dynamax Drilbur
A short in-game event will focus on Max Battles with a new Pokemon.

The Simply Groundbreaking event is coming soon to Pokemon Go, bringing with it a new Dynamax Pokemon to take on in Max Battles.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Simply Groundbreaking event in Pokemon Go.
Event date and time
The Simply Groundbreaking event will run from Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time until Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 8 p.m. local time.
New Pokemon added with this event
Once the Simply Groundbreaking event begins, players will have the chance to battle Dynamax Drilbur in Max Battles.
Event bonuses
A single in-game bonus will be active during the Simply Groundbreaking event:
- There will be twice the normal chance for players who have reached Level 31 or above in Pokemon Go to receive Candy XL when catching Pokemon.
Wild encounters
The following Pokemon will appear more frequently than normal in the wild during the Simply Groundbreaking event:
- Jigglypuff
- Diglett
- Alolan Diglett
- Rhyhorn
- Phanpy
- Whismur
- Kricketot
- Woobat
- Drilbur
- Noibat
All of these Pokemon will have the chance to be Shiny.
Excadrill will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, though it will be rarer than the other featured Pokemon. Excadrill will also have the chance to be Shiny.
Field Research tasks
Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during the Simply Groundbreaking event to receive Drilbur encounters, Drilbur Candy, or Drilbur Candy XL.
Timed Research tasks
Players will be able to complete Timed Research tasks during the Simply Groundbreaking event to receive Drilbur Candy, Drilbur Candy XL, or Drilbur encounters.
