Xenoblade Chronicles X was released on Nintendo’s Wii U console way back in 2015. As the game’s 10 year anniversary approaches, Nintendo revealed an updated version of the action RPG will be released on Switch in early 2025.
Nintendo offered a quick recap of the game’s story:
“The year is 2054. Humans have fled Earth amid a destructive intergalactic war. As one of the survivors and a member of the New Los Angeles (NLA) colony, it’s your mission to help build a new home on the sprawling, hostile planet of Mira. Explore this seamless open world across five otherworldly continents teeming with unknown creatures – some of which are epic in scale – and fight for the future of humanity.”
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will support single-player gameplay, as well as online multiplayer, allowing players to team up with others online to complete Squad Tasks, missions, and Global Nemesis Battles.
When compared to the original Wii U release, this Switch version of the game will offer updated visuals and additional story-related content.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will be released on Switch on March 20, 2025. It’s available to pre-order now.
